My 2024 Helper

My dogs have always been SO helpful when I quilt, emulating cats as they sit right on the quilt. Leo is no exception. He is a ten year old shih tzu who has been with me about two months.

Final quilt of 2024!

Had three fabrics that screamed that they needed to be together, and found a test block in this pattern when I was organizing! Perfect. These are all the projects I plan to get done until next June.

String quilts

Sometimes, one project bleeds into another! Had 4 triangles left, so they became the center of the next quilt!

Other graduation present

Scrap quilt

Actually finished this one BEFORE high school graduation, so will be able to give it on a timely fashion!

Four Patch

All of my fabric is either bought at the thrift store or given to me by friends, which leads to an interesting design process. This is a great pattern for larger prints that are hard to work in to other patterns. I had the green four patches left over from other projects, and they matched the green print well.

Roman Stripe Blocks

I had about six years worth of scrap strips. There are enough blocks for another one of these. I love the variety of fabrics.

Ocean Waves

Ocean waves, made with 3.5" square scraps. Rather like this one. Backed with sky print fabric copyright 1997!

Whirligigs

I give a lot of quilts to people for their grandkids, since more of the people I know have children having babies. This for a neighbor.

Around the World

Had pieces left over from the pink and blue bow ties. Around the World is my favorite baby quilt to make.

Dragging my feet

These are tops I sewed last summer and finally quilted. Somehow just didn't want to do the binding.

Pink and blue bow tie lap quilt for a friend's mother who is in memory care. I know when my mother was in a similar situation, the other ladies loved the quilts I brought her. I hope it sparks some joy.

Quilting Season 2024 OPEN!

Finally quilted two of the tops I did last summer! Baby quilts for staff members.

What's slowing me down...

I started this in August of 2020; even bought musical note fabric for it, and have just dragged my feet! Wrist surgery in 2022 didn't help, and I had all of the blocks cut at the end of the summer of 2023, but then thought I had lost some blocks. Finally put it together over winter break.  It's about half machine quilted now, and I've come to another standstill. Hoping to get some done tomorrow because I have a graduation quilt for 2025 that I really need to start!

Hooray! Finally finished. It's a double coverlet or twin bedspread size. (7/21/24)

Summer of 2023 Quilting

I did a number of tops but didn't quilt them; as people at work have babies, it's easy to just quilt the top. I like to do doll blankets if I have extra blocks.

I'm hoping to be more organized this summer and have a stockpile of quilts going in to the 2024-25 school year.

Primary Four Patch

This quilt was for the son of the couple who had the gray and taupe wedding! A friend hand quilted it, so it's much nicer than my usual quilts.
