Quilting Season 2023 Open!

My new goal is to give a baby quilt to every staff member at my school who has a baby. Shouldn't be too hard, as there are usually only 2-5. I'm using this pattern for my niece's high school graduation quilt that is two years overdue, so thought I would get some practice with it.

Next week, I hope to do the same pattern in pinks and greens for another teacher.

This ended up being a slightly odd size, but would be perfect for a cape,

The Colors of the 2020s

Or complete lack of color. This is the only quilt I did in 2022, for a friend's wedding. It's lap size, in the wedding colors which were, I kid you not, GRAY AND TAUPE.

Those are not colors. Those are... institutional walls.

Well, I think they liked it. They are having a baby this year, so maybe I will give them one of my traditional a-quilt-store-threw-up-on-my-bed quilts with ALL the colors, just so the poor child doesn't perish of boredom.

Had carpal tunnel surgery last June and didn't quilt at all out of an excess of caution, but hope to stock up on baby quilts this summer.
